The Singapore Diving competitions calendar 2012 starts with the Diving Grand Prix on 15 Jan 2012.

14 Divers from National High Performance Squad, Aerotumblers Diving Club and Ngee Ann Polytechnic Diving Club are taking part.

Responsibilities:
• Handle administrative matters for diving.
• Assist the Diving Manager and National Coaches in coordinating events, competitions and national training.
• Assist in High Participation and High Performance matters.

Requirements:
• Good team player and willing to work on weekends as and when competitions and events are held.
• Able to travel overseas.
• A dynamic and outgoing person with a strong passion for sports.
• Good written English.
• Preferably bilingual in English and Chinese.
• Ability to work independently.
• Be able to work from Jan – July 2012, or at least 3 months.

7th AASF Asian Age Group Championships 2011, Jakarta

4 divers represented Singapore at the 7^th Asian Age Group Championships 2011, held in Jakarta, 5-9 Oct 2011.

Mark and Timothy Lee achieved a silver in the 3m Men Synchro Group A / B. They beat Thailand, Hong Kong and Kuwait with a score of 287.64.

Singapore’s female divers also impressed us in their individual events, Girls 3m Group B and Group C respectively. Fong Kay Yian emerged 4^th out of 11 divers with a score of 315.05. Grace Mun was placed 7^th with a score of 182.95.

Through countless hours of practice and preparations, the Singapore diving team has achieved great results for the year 2011, each proving that hard work breeds success. Congratulations to all of you once again and we look forward to 2012 where Singapore Diving will only get bigger and better.

4th Asian Diving Cup 2011

The Singapore Diving team was represented by 4 divers, 2 male and 2 female at the recently concluded 4th Asian Diving Cup 2011 held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia from the 25-27 Sep 2011.

The team were awarded 1 individual bronze and 1 team bronze in the Men’s 3m Springboard and Men’s 3m Synchro respectively. Timothy Lee achieved a personal best with a score of 310.10 in the 3m springboard Final while, Mark and Timothy Lee also produced personal bests in the 3m synchro event with a score of 288.21. Their competitors were represented from both China and Malaysia.
With a stronger field of challengers in the female category, our 2 female divers tried their best but only managed a fourth place finish. Their older and more experienced counterparts hailed from China, Malaysia and Macau.

This prestigious event also received the approval of FINA as a London 2012 Olympic Games qualifying events for the Asia Continental Region.

2nd Singapore Diving Invitational 2011

With the success of last year’s Diving Invitational, Singapore Diving held its largest local competition over the last weekend – the 2nd Singapore Diving Invitational 2011.

The meet was held at Toa Payoh Swimming Complex, with a total of 4 participating foreign teams, namely Brunei, Indonesia, Macau and Philippines. There were a total of 35 participating athletes, including 15 local divers. The complete results of the competition can be found here.

As Singapore is an ideal acclimatisation and training location prior to the FINA World Championships in Shanghai, China, we had the privilege to host the Swedish Diving Team here in Singapore. They arrived for their pre-World Champs training on 8 July 2011 and will be leaving for Shanghai on 13 July 2011. Their level of skills and competency has truly been an eye opener for both the foreign and local divers.

With that, we would like to thank all the foreign and local divers who have participated in this competition, and also the volunteers who have helped to make this event a success. Singapore Diving would also like to wish the Swedish Diving Team a successful competion in the coming World Championships in Shanghai.
